I’ve thought about the meaning of this, and to me it comes off as more than just a twisted advertisemnt. I think it makes a statement about the rituals and products women must put up with every month to control and conceal their menstrual flow. There is still a taboo surrounding this natural occurence which is unique to women. In some places in the world (ie: parts of New Guinea and India) menstrual blood is viewed as polluting. This teaches women they are inherently dirty, and that they have something to be ashamed of, which is simply not true. I hope this piece brings a sense of irony as well as empowerment to other women.
